Meet Your Guru

Kum. Naveena Muthukrishnan is a Bharatanrityam dancer, teacher and choreographer. A direct disciple of Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam and Shri. Hemnath Shanmugam, she has over 20 years of dedicated training, completing various certifications and more than 6 years of teaching experience.

Specializing in the 108 Karanas of the Natya Shastra, she is passionate about preserving the authentic Guru–Shishya tradition while making Bharatanatyam accessible to learners of all ages and backgrounds. Her teaching combines patience, personal guidance, and a deep appreciation of the art's cultural and spiritual heritage.

Having performed at prestigious venues including Music Academy, Narada Gana Sabha, Krishna Gana Sabha, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, and Parthasarathy Swami Sabha, she continues to inspire students through a structured, meaningful, and authentic learning experience.

Beginner Performance Course

Course Format:

This is a performance oriented course consisting of 7 pre-recorded sessions. No live classes are included in this package. By the end of this course, students will be able to perform a beautiful devotional Bharatanatyam piece on Lord Rama.

Who is this course for?

1) Beginners who wish to learn a complete traditional Bharatanatyam item for a competition, cultural programme, or stage performance.

2) Intermediate learners who would like to learn and perform a 7-minute-long Padam.

3) Bharatanatyam dancers interested in learning the choreography of Guru Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam.

Introduction to Natyashastra

Course Format:

This is a preliminary course covering the basic elements of karanas consisting of 10 pre-recorded sessions. No live classes are included in this package.

Special Benefits:

Upon successful completion of this course, interested students will be eligible for direct entry into the ongoing live Karana batch. This exemption covers the preliminary module, allowing students to save approximately 20 hours of training and ₹10,000 in tuition fees.

Classical dancers with 6+ years of experience interested in exploring Natyashastra and 108 karanas decoded by Guru Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam.
